My Plumbing Fixtures Company Is Hurting
Monday, December 28th, 2009My own plumbing fixtures company was starting to lose sales to the new franchise company that just moved into town. I have seen many of my accounts that I had for many years just go completely cold. They have not called me in about six months, and they used to call at least once a week. I know that I cannot compete with the big box stores prices but I thought that maybe the personal service would count for something. So far, it has not.
I think that the accounts that I still have may only be staying with me because I allow them to charge and just pay a portion every month. I know that the big store does not allow their customers to do that, no matter what kind of great customers they are.
I have started to offer some of the unique products that you cannot find anywhere else, like the new waterless urinal. It has brought back a few of my clients but not enough to keep me going for much longer. If the waterless urinal does not save my business then I will have to start calling in all of the money that I am owed by my customers to pay the bills for this month.
